Michelle Hart is the author of the novel We Do What We Do in the Dark (2022), which was chosen as one of the best audiobooks of the year by the New York Times. She has received fellowships from the Kenyon Review Writers Conference, the Sewanee Writers Conference, the MacDowell Foundation, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Writing of hers has appeared in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Electric Literature, and the New Yorker online. Previously, she was the Assistant Books Editor at O, the Oprah Magazine and Oprah Daily. She received her MFA from Rutgers-Newark and lives in New Jersey.
